Term Two 2015
Tuesday 21st July - Thursday 24th September 2015
During the ACT school term we run the program from Tulips in Pialligo two days per week (Tuesday and Thursday).
Term Session Times: 10:00am - 10:30am - 11:00am - 11:30am - 12:00pm
Tuesday 3rd February & Thursday 5th - Introduction and Book Decorating
Each child will receive the letters of their name to decorate using a variety of different items. They will also decorate a sheet of paper which will be used to cover their activity book for the term. We will work on the week one activity sheet together.
Name pass and lanyard are handed out to the term crafters today (additional $10 for casual crafters if they wish to purchase).
Tuesday 10th & Thursday 12th February - Sunshine Rays
Who knew a paper plate could look so pretty? This week we will be creating an awesome sun design to brighten up your day. With some paint, pegs and streamers, they will look great.
Aprons will be handed out to the term crafters today.
Tuesday 17th - Fabric Pot Decorating
This week we are going to decorate a terracotta pot using coloured pieces of fabric . As you can see from the picture, the end result is pretty cool. You are welcome to take your pot home with you after decorating or leave it with us and return on Thursday to participate in the potting of some beautiful flowers.
Tuesday 24th & Thursday 26th February - Sand Designs
Using a variety of coloured sand and a cute little glass jar, the kids can be very creative in making a unique sand design. After some experimentation we will pour our sand into the jar in stages to create different layers of colour, it's great fun.
Tuesday 3rd & Thursday 5th March - Flying Fish
Fish cannot really fly, but these colourful paper fish can. Cardboard, paper, streamers, string and google eyes are all that is needed to make these fantastic fishy friends. How many do you think you can make?
Tuesday 10th & Thursday 12th March - Peg Candles
These little candles are so easy to make and the end result looks amazing. First we will paint our wooden pegs in whatever colour you like (or if you prefer the natural look you can leave them as is). Once they are dry we will carefully place them onto our special circular tin, which will leave a hole in the middle where we can place our candle.
Tuesday 17th & Thursday 19th March - Hairy Caterpillars
Our Hairy Caterpillar project is ideal for children of all ages. Children will mix up some grass seeds with soil and pour into a stocking, making segments along the way to make a body. Antenna and eyes are also added. The Caterpillar’s hair doesn’t take long to sprout and children get very excited when it comes time to give him a haircut.
Tuesday 24th & Thursday 26th March - Bird Cookies
These cookies are not for us to eat, but for our feathered friends. Bird seed, gelatine, spoons, molds and strong muscles are all that is needed for this activity. Once the cookie is set you can hang it outside for your bird pals to nibble on.
Thursday 19th February - Pot Planting - $5.00 per child
Children will choose a lovely coloured flower to plant into a terracotta pot. We will scoop some soil into our pot and carefully place our flower inside. After a little water the plants are ready to be taken to their new home. This activity can be messy so make sure you wear old clothes.
Tuesday 31st March & Thursday 2nd April - Roller Bunnies
Hop hoppity hop, let's make a little bunny ready for Easter. After you have completed your bunny we will make a small basket because we will need it to go on our Easter Egg Hunt around the garden.
Tuesday 7th & Thursday 9th April - End of Term Excursion TBC
It's PARTY TIME. Party will run from 11:00am - 1:00pm on both Tuesday and Thursday.
We will have a craft activity, a few games, pinata, lolly bag and balloons. Term crafters will also receive their certificates.
Casual crafters can also attend the party for $20.00 per child.
